Dynamic Contrast Enhancer (DCE)
The Dynamic Contrast Enhancer works to maximise and reproduce markedly improved detail, using the full contrast range of LCD display.
A group of advanced algorithms intelligently adjust the picture level on every frame. In bright pictures, it changes the histogram levels to improve the white details. And in darker images, it alters the histogram of the dark areas, bringing out dark details. The effect of the DCE is well demonstrated in the picture above. Notice how the details in both the bright and the shadow areas are reproduced for a more natural picture where details are crisp and visible.
Adaptive 3-D Comb Filter*
A new technology in picture enhancement, the 3-D Comb Filter is the next level of colour filtering for greater detail in still as well as fast-moving pictures.
While processing the video signal, low frequency Luma details (black and white) and high frequency Chroma details (colour) are separated, decoded and corrected individually before being recombined to create the final picture. With a standard 2-D Comb Filter, higher frequency Luma details are often lost and false colour effects can be seen. But Vestar's adaptive 3-D Comb Filter ensures Luma details are maintained while enhancing high frequency Chroma details to provide noise-free colour recreation with no overlapping. So you enjoy the finest in detail and intense colour.
Adaptive Backlight
Based on the luminance required for an image, the backlight of a Vestar changes dynamically, brightening or dimming as needed. In doing this, the contrast of the picture is maintained and the dynamic range of black to white is increased. The result is minimal luminance of blacks and maximum luminance of whites, leading to an increased dynamic contrast ratio.
For example, to reproduce a picture with minimal lighting and more black, the backlight dims automatically, eliminating unnecessary brightness and loss of detail.
5 Millisecond Response Time
Beating the industry standard of 8ms, all Vestar televisions are equipped with an extra-fast response time of 5ms to completely nullify the motion trails caused by switching pixels. The result is pictures with no motion blur or ghosts.
Game Mode
Switch your Vestar to Game Mode and you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how much more you get out of your gaming experience. The Game Mode intelligently increases the levels of colour, detail, sharpness and bass sound to multiply the excitement, especially in games with sophisticated graphics and animation.
Flim Mode
Film Mode allows you to enjoy movies in true cinematic motion and detail. Movies are filmed in 24, 25 or 30 frames per second, while the standard TV displays 50 frames per second. When converting 24fps to 50fps, frames can be lost, leading to juddered movements and blurring. Ordinarily, LCD televisions insert a duplicate frame or two to reduce film judder. But this is not enough to prevent blurring in fast action scenes. Which is why a Vestar uses a complex inverse algorithm that analyses fast moving video signals and reproduces in-between frames with respect to the motion of the object. Bringing home the joy of smooth, judder-free cinematic action at up to 100fps.
Horizontal and Vertical Sharpness Enhancement

With Vestar, you can be sure of pictures with an accurate height:width ratio, thanks to this sharpness enhancing algorithm. By adjusting the sharpness vertically and horizontally with no loss of detail, pictures are reproduced without abnormal stretching or zooming.
Motion and Edge adaptive de-interlacing

Enjoy motion without distortion, ghost images or blurs. This algorithm uses a technique that reads the picture, senses the edges of a moving object and adjusts the image to maintain smooth, well defined edges, regardless of the speed of the object.
